The traditional instrument we use to determine the wind’s direction is a weathervane, or wind vane. In the open places, such as gardens, barns, or garages, and on top of buildings are the place where we can find a weathervane. They are very durable, since they are usually made of metal. In the lawns, rooftops, gardens, you say it, you can mount them there. Their looks are usually very antique and classy.
Rather than just a weathervane on the roof, you can treat them as garden décor. For thousands of years, many buildings have been ornamented by weathervanes. There are many shapes and designs, but the rooster weathervane is the most common design for weathervanes anywhere. In many movies, barns, and farms, you can see rooster weathervane, and they have very classic looks.
The material of the rooster weathervane is copper, steel, bronze, or brass. There are also various models, breeds, and sizes for the rooster weathervane’s design. To measure the speed of the wind, modern rooster weathervane usually comes with an anemometer, and they are connected to the reading station.
